Kirkland Signature Minoxidil Foam 5% for Men - 6 Month Supply

Half a capful, twice a day, for six months. Consistency beats everything else you could do.

1. Start with dry hair and a dry scalp.
2. Part your hair to expose the thinning area.
3. Dispense half a capful onto cool, dry fingers.
4. Work it into the scalp itself, not into the lengths of your hair.
5. Spread evenly across the whole area you are treating.
6. Wash your hands straight away.
7. Let it dry, usually a few minutes, before styling.

Half a capful twice daily is the full dose regardless of area size. More does not work faster.

Two things worth doing over a six-month run:

• Photograph the top of your head every four weeks, same spot, same light. Day-to-day change is invisible; month-to-month change is not.
• Open the next can before the current one runs out. A week's gap at month three costs more than it sounds like.

There is no propylene glycol in the foam, which is the main practical reason to choose it over a lotion.

Is six months really necessary?

It is the window over which minoxidil is assessed. Results are typically visible between months four and six, so anything shorter means judging the treatment before it has finished making its case.

Do the cans expire before I use them all?

No. Cans carry an expiry date well beyond six months. Store them at room temperature, away from sunlight and heat.

I am shedding more since starting. Is that bad?

It is expected, usually between weeks two and eight, and it reflects the hair cycle turning over rather than damage. It settles without you doing anything.

What if I miss a few days?

Pick straight back up at half a capful twice daily. Do not double up. Occasional misses are survivable; repeated multi-week gaps are what undo progress.

What happens when I stop?

Minoxidil maintains hair while you use it. Within a few months of stopping, hair returns to where it would have been untreated.

Is it safe, and what are the side effects?

It is an approved over-the-counter treatment and is safe used as directed. Scalp irritation can occur, less often with foam than lotion. Unwanted facial hair can result from transfer — washing your hands prevents it. With a heart condition or any doubt, speak to your pharmacist or doctor first.
