This is not a beginner's kit

Worth saying plainly, because most sites will not. At 0.5 mm and above, technique starts to matter. The needles go deeper, sessions are more uncomfortable, pinpoint bleeding becomes possible at the longer depths, and your scalp needs longer to recover between uses. Bad technique at 1.5 mm does real damage in a way that bad technique at 0.3 mm does not.

If you have not microneedled before, buy the 0.3 mm roller instead and get comfortable with it first. It costs less and it is far more forgiving. Come back to this kit when you have a routine you can hold.

What we are not claiming

This is a tool. We are not telling you it will regrow your hair, and we would be sceptical of anyone who does. People use scalp rollers as part of a broader routine — if that is what you are after, this is a well-made kit that covers the useful range of depths.

If you use minoxidil

Do not apply it to a freshly rolled scalp. Microneedling temporarily opens the skin and increases how much of any topical is absorbed into your bloodstream, and the deeper heads in this kit make that more pronounced, not less. Leave around 24 hours between rolling and your next application.

Pick the shallowest head that does the job, use light pressure, and apply nothing to the scalp afterwards.

  1. Choose your head and fit it to the handle. If in doubt, choose the shorter one.
  2. Disinfect the head before use and let it dry.
  3. Start on a clean, dry scalp. Never roll over broken, irritated, sunburnt or infected skin.
  4. Roll gently over the target area — a few passes horizontally, vertically and diagonally.
  5. Do not apply heavy pressure. Depth comes from the needle length you selected, not from how hard you push.
  6. Lift between directions rather than dragging across the scalp.
  7. Disinfect thoroughly after use and return the head to its case.

Do not apply minoxidil or any other topical product immediately afterwards. Wait around 24 hours.

Recovery time increases with depth. At 0.5 mm most people leave several days between sessions; at 1.0–1.5 mm the gap is longer still, often two to three weeks. Rolling again before your scalp has recovered is how people cause lasting irritation.

  • One person, one kit. Never share it, with anyone.
  • Replace heads once needles feel dull or look bent.
  • Stop immediately if your scalp becomes sore, inflamed or does not settle between sessions.

Which depth should I use?

The shallowest one that suits what you are doing. If you are asking the question at all, start at 0.3 mm with the single roller rather than this kit.

Can I apply minoxidil straight after?

No. Wait around 24 hours. Freshly needled skin absorbs far more into the bloodstream, and the deeper heads make that more significant.

How often can I use it?

It depends entirely on depth. Several days between sessions at 0.5 mm; often two to three weeks at 1.0–1.5 mm. Let the scalp fully recover before going again.

Should it bleed?

Pinpoint bleeding can occur at longer needle depths. Anything more than that means too much pressure, too much depth, or both. Stop and use a shorter head.

Will it regrow my hair?

Deeper is not better. Match the head to your experience level.

0.5 mm is the standard at-home depth for scalp routines — start here.
0.75 to 1.0 mm for experienced users — deeper sessions, longer recovery between uses.
