This is the European pharmacy pack of Nizoral shampoo: 20 mg/g ketoconazole, which is the same 2% treatment strength as the small bottle, in a larger 100 ml size. It is intended for dandruff and seborrhoeic dermatitis that ordinary anti-dandruff shampoos have not brought under control.

Seborrhoeic dermatitis is more than dry skin. It shows up as greasy yellowish flakes, redness and persistent itching, often around the hairline, and it recurs unless it is treated properly rather than washed away.

Why the 100 ml pack

The 60 ml bottle covers a single course comfortably.   2. Apply a small amount directly to the scalp, not to the lengths of your hair.
  3. Massage into a lather across the whole scalp.
  4. Leave it on for three to five minutes. This is the step people skip, and it is the step that does the work — rinsing straight away achieves very little.
  5. Rinse thoroughly.

A typical course: twice a week for two to four weeks to bring flaking under control, then once every one to two weeks to stop it coming back. Follow the leaflet for your pack.

  • Use it on the scalp, not as a general shampoo. You can wash the lengths with your usual product afterwards.
