Medicated shampoos have a reputation for leaving hair dry, coarse and unpleasant to touch. That is usually why people abandon them long before the dandruff is dealt with. This one conditions in the same step.

Alongside a minoxidil routine

A comfortable scalp is a scalp you keep treating. Many people run an anti-dandruff shampoo alongside minoxidil for that reason. Leave several hours between washing and applying minoxidil so the dose is not rinsed away.

This shampoo controls dandruff. It is not a hair loss treatment and does not regrow hair.

  2. Apply evenly to the scalp first, then work through the lengths.
  3. Massage into a lather across the whole scalp.
  4. Leave it on for three to five minutes. Rinsing immediately is why people conclude it did not work.
  5. Rinse thoroughly. No separate conditioner needed.

Once flaking is controlled, most people drop to once a week or once a fortnight. Follow the leaflet for your pack.

Two practical notes:

  • Get it onto the scalp before worrying about the lengths — that is where the flaking starts.
  • If you also use minoxidil, leave several hours between washing and applying it.
