How to use it
Distribute evenly between your palms first, apply to wet hair and lather fully. Leave on for 1–3 minutes; up to 5 minutes for more intense toning. Rinse well and follow with No.5P for maximum toning. Use weekly or as needed. On very light or porous blonde hair, start with 1 minute. The pigment can tint light nails: rinse your hands straight away or wear gloves.

What to expect
- Wash day: Lather, 1–3 minutes, rinse, No.5P. Brassiness is visibly reduced after one wash.
- Weekly: Repeat weekly or as needed. No.4 and No.5 on the washes in between.
- If it goes lilac: Shorten the leave-on time next time; a couple of washes with No.4 clear a purple tinge.

- Sulfonate, not sulfate: The main cleanser is sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate: formally sulfate-free, and a stronger cleanser than the isethionates in No.4, which is one more reason not to use it daily.
